Oh wow! I am soooooo jealous. Gorgeous - as always. I'm 57 and still look pretty good for 57. But in my 30's I didn't look that good.
Keep showin' 'em how it's done, Carly! You're the best.

Dear Carly
Yesterday my children, my wife Sandra and I, song old nursery rhymes. Ipsy Wispy Spider was one of those nice songs. We have this song also in a Dutch version. When we were singing, I had to think of your version. Immediately I look for the LP “Coming Around” and put it on the gramophone player. We listened to it. (We still run LP's). I still find your music great. I memoriesto old times in the eighties. I am now 55 years and still feel young. And your music and songs give a lot of energy.
Thank you!

This looks like a picture of you from the seventies. I am 46 and wish I looked half as good as you. I have been a fan and follower of yours since the 70's.
I love your music and have a signed photo of you from 1980.

32 years ago I was a young 20 year old serving my country in the US Army at Fort Campbell Kentucky.
While stationed there I met my first true love Marsha U.
She quickly became the center of my life, and over several months we both sought out every conceivable moment to be near each other. The world suddenly became a small place as we basked in moment that was us.
The midnight moon smiled down upon us through the treetops as we lay across the hood of my car sipping Boones Farm wine. The mellow sounds of "You're So Vain" floating with the cool night breeze. The electricity of that moment forever engraved into the very essence of all that I have lived and become thus far.
The next pay-day I spent my entire paycheck on an engagement ring, waiting for the moment that I could ask her to spend her life with mine.
Then she told me that she was married....
My world fell apart in a blink of an eye. Devastation and void filled that once happy place that was my heart. It took months to simply learn to breathe again, and to remember to put my left foot in front of the right foot.
Months later I was unknowingly invited to a soldiers party celebrating her husband Dave's end of enlistment from the military. Marsha was present, and as always looked stunning. It took my breath away just to catch her eye. Her husband Dave was deeply devoted to Marsha, and I could not in my wildest fantasy expose what we had shared together. It was the second most difficult thing that I have ever been forced to do.
Now I am 54 years old; I have carried that special love with me throughout my entire life. I think that sometimes I have never gotten over her. The last time that I spoke with her at the party in 1980, she gave me the Carly Simon album highlighting the song "Nobody Does It Netter". She pulled me tight against her and kissed me for the last time; and then turned away with tears in her eyes. I have never seen her since that moment, but always I have carried this memory in that special place. These two songs always send me "tripping the light fantastic" back into the moments of those time.
Perhaps one day sustenance will find appeasement...

I just saw your thanksgiving message on FB, and you are right! The seeds we plant over a lifetime take root and grow, sometimes unexpectedly.
When I can do so privately, I would like to share a story with you. Thank-you!
