This is shameful, indeed.
Time to reconsider publishing your own memoir -- your fans can buy that instead!

Despite the public's, as well as Carly's, general acceptance of Sheila Weller's book, I found it to be a little shabby in regards to some of its facts and was disappointed in that read. This new book sounds like an even greater disappointment. I have cancelled my pre-order from Amazon. If Carly wants the truth to be known about her life, then she must be the one to either reveal the facts herself or authorize another person to do so. Since the book was promoted so promisingly when first proposed, something should have been done a long time ago to stop this product from coming into fruition!

Didn't know where else to put this comment.
MERRY CHRISTMAS.
No doubt you'll have a great time on the Vineyard. Believe I'll head to Vermont where the project is to put in a micro hydroelectric power system and supply all power for a home with the creek on the property.
Should be fun. I've heard a lot about Vermont and that fresh maple syrup I'm looking to try.
Enjoy any and all of the holidays coming up.
Many thanks for living that entertaining lifestyle.
Takes the pressure off of me.

Honestly, I don't know what to believe. Carly Simon is a wondrously talented person who has lived a very fascinating life. She is also someone who is a bit too candid for her friends' and relatives' tastes, which I know gets her into trouble with the people she loves, but makes me like her even more.
